Cuttack, April 17: Seeded players made merry against their respective opponents by winning their matches easily in the first and the second round of the Orissa State U-13 Chess Championship at the ABIT hall here Friday. Twenty nine players are tied at the top in the boys’ category after the completion of round two.
Top seed Ansuman Samal prevailed over Aditya Anurakta Mohanty, while second seed Pranab Kumar Patra got the better of Siddhesh Kamila. In other matches third seed Nilsu Patnaik downed Subham Shreyash Patnaik while fourth seed Sambit Kumar Panda outwitted Shree Shanyog Rath.
In the girls segment, 12 players emerged as the joint leaders after the second round. Among them are Saina Salonika, Anwesha Mishra, Anisha Mishra, and Ankita Sahoo.
