Selfie craze: 69 year-old-man falls into Odisha’s Mahanadi River, rescued

Sambalpur: Fire Services personnel Tuesday rescued a 69-year-old man from Mahanadi River who fell from Chanborpur Bridge in Sambalpur while taking selfie, a source said.

The man was identified as Surendra Mohan Mishra.

According to the source, some locals first saw a man falling from the bridge. Following, the incident, they informed the local police and fire services personnel.

Mishra said that his leg slipped while he was taking a selfie on the bridge. Following the slip, he fell into the river.

Mishra also said that he has Parkinson’s disease and denied having any intention to jump off the bridge.
