Tensa: Seven football players were seriously injured in a road accident on National Highway 520 near Rengalbeda under Koida police limits in Sundargarh district late Saturday evening.
The identities of the injured players were yet to be ascertained, police said at the time of fi ling this report.
According to preliminary information, the players from Guali village in Keonjhar district had travelled to Bandhal village under Dengula gram panchayat in Koida block to play a football match and were returning in a Scorpio when the mishap occurred.
The vehicle reportedly rammed into the rear of a stationary trailer that had broken down on the highway at Rengalbeda.
The impact left seven players critically injured.
On being informed, Koida police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Koida hospital for treatment.”
