Bhubaneswar, Jan 5: Commissionerate police’s quick action team (QAT) officials and Sahid Nagar police in a joint operation Tuesday busted a
sex racket near the railway over bridge and arrested three customers.
The cops also rescued at least 10 women, who are between 16 and 45 years of age, from the spot.
The miscreants have been identified as Gangadhar Muduli (30) of Salia Sahi, MD Hassan (22) of Jharkhand and Dilip Behera (24) of Chandaka. The police said the rescued females have been sent to a city-based rehab centre. A case has been registered and the trio was produced in a court Tuesday.
Sources said Sahid Nagar police inspector in-charge Deepak Kumar Mishra had earlier urged BMC authorities to demolish the Vani Vihar slum near the railway over bridge, where flesh trade is reportedly carried out.
