Berhampur: Acting on a tip-off, Gosaninugaon police Tuesday busted a sex racket in Annapurna Nagar of Silk City and arrested two women including the sex worker and a customer during the raid.
The accused were produced in the court of sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) after a medical examination was carried out on them Wednesday, Gosaninuagaon IIC Kulamani Sethi said.
However, the mastermind of the racket managed to escape. The accused have taken the house on rent and was running a sex racket from inside.
The accused included woman manager Rashmi Das of Puri, a sex worker from Cuttack and Bhagaban Padhi, a customer, of Old Berhampur area. Rs 2000 and several objectionable materials were seized from their possession. A case was registered in this connection and the house owner is being questioned in this connection, Sethi added.
