Sex racket busted

Jharsuguda: Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid and busted a sex racket at a hotel here in this district Sunday.

The team rescued two girls, residents of West Bengal, from the hotel but a customer and middleman escaped, police said. The police also rescued a young couple.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the hotel staff was also involved in the crime, police said, adding that further probe was on.

A similar sex racket was busted at Nahanjara village near Singla in Balasore district June 14. Following the raid, four persons, including a girl and the owner of the house, were taken into custody.

Similarly, the Sahid Nagar police had uncovered a high-profile sex racket running in the guise of a spa at Bapuji Nagar in the Capital city.

Seven persons were arrested from the spot and eight Thai women rescued.
