Niali: A teacher of a primary school here has been placed under suspension for allegedly sexually exploiting a Class IV girl November 12, Block Education Officer (BEO) Surama Mohapatra told the media Wednesday.
According to sources, the accused Mallick Yaqub was arrested Tuesday a few hours after the victim’s family lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the schoolteacher had abused their ward on the school premises Monday.
Soon after Yaqub’s arrest, the BEO enquired into the alleged incident and submitted her report to the District Education Officer (DEO). “Based on the DEO’s directive, Yaqub has been placed under suspension (vide letter No 1428),” Mohapatra said.
