Deogarh: A man who was beaten up by his son Saturday night succumbed Sunday morning. The incident was reported from Rangiatikra village under Deogarh police limits.
The deceased was identified as Gobind Munda (60) and the accused as Amulya (35).
According to a source, Gobind and Amulya returned home in a drunken state Saturday night. Reaching home, they entered into a heated argument over some family issues. Soon the argument turned ugly as Amulya lost his cool and started beating his father mercilessly.
However, Gobind was rescued by his second son Gana and was kept at the village puja mandap. He was found dead Sunday morning.
As the news spread, villagers caught hold of Amulya and Gana informed the police.
Few moments later, police reached the spot and took Amulya into their custody. They then seized the body and sent it to Deogarh district headquarters hospital (DHH) for post mortem.
