New Delh: Shuttler PV Sindhu wants to cap off a satisfactory season by doing well at the USD 10,00,000 Dubai World Super Series Finals badminton tournament which starts Wednesday.

Sindhu this season, has clinched the India Open Super Series and Korea Open Super Series titles, besides bagging the silver at Glasgow World Championship and finishing as runners-up at Hong Kong Open Super Series last month.

“It has been a good year for me and I’m very happy with my performances. I won two Super Series tourneys, finished runner-up in one and also a silver at the World Championships. I did pretty well. Now I really hope I can end the year on a good note by doing well at Dubai, and if possible win the title there,” Sindhu told this agency, Monday.

“It is not going to be easy as all the top players will be playing. Each match from the first round will be very tough. So I will have to be prepared from the start to do well,” added the Hyderabadi, who had reached the semifinals at Dubai event last year.

Asked which matches impacted her most this season, Sindhu stated that each was different from the other. “Each match was comparatively different, in the beginning it was Sindhu-Marin and then it was Sindhu-Okuhara at the World Championships,” Sindhu pointed out.

“I think each player has a different style of play and every tie is different. I think the World Championships final which I lost to Okuhara impacted me the most,” added the lanky player.

The 22-year-old Indian has played all the 12 Super Series tournaments this season and she credited her training sessions which helped her to manage the workload. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has revamped the international circuit and made it mandatory for the top 15 players to play at least 12 tournaments next year.

Sindhu said that she will have to plan out her schedule carefully for the next season. “It would definitely be hectic next year and we have to plan it out accordingly. Other than the BWF tournaments, there is also the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games,” Sindhu informed.

“It’s just that I have to be prepared. I will have to sit with my coach (Pullela Gopichand) and plan accordingly. He will take the decisions depending on the training sessions, how fit I am and how my body is recovering,” the current World No.2 added.

Sindhu was quick to point out that with the busy international schedule it will be difficult for her to play the Nationals if it takes place. She had finished runner-up in the Nationals which was played at Nagpur a couple of months back.
