Washington: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has met US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and invited him to the economic and financial partnership meeting in Delhi later this year.
Sitharaman met Bessent in Asheville, North Carolina, on the sidelines of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) Meeting Monday.
“The Union Finance Minister invited Mr Bessent for the Economic & Financial Partnership to New Delhi later this year,” the Finance Ministry said in a post on X.

It said Bessent appreciated India’s role in G7 plus and appreciated the participation in the G7-led critical mineral dialogues to secure supply chains and share research and technology.
Sitharaman and Bessent acknowledged the long-standing relationship between India and the US and committed to deepening this relationship in various areas, including critical minerals.
