Skeleton sent for FMT, murder case registered

Puri: The mystery over a human skeleton found inside a forest at Narasinghpatna deepened Sunday after family members of a missing person claimed the remains belonged to him. Police have sent the skeleton for forensic tests.
Krushna Charan Das of Raibidhar village had gone missing October 18. His brother Ramchandra Sunday claimed the skeleton was Krushna’s and also alleged that he was murdered.
He lodged a complaint on the basis of which police registered a murder case.
The Sadar police inspector-in-charge said, “The skeleton has been sent to SCB for FMT. The report will ascertain whether the skeleton belongs to a male or female. Further investigation is on.”
The police had earlier detained two persons from Jagannathpatna after recovering the skeleton.
According to the complaint, Krushna worked at a farmhouse at Ransinghpatna. He used to stay at the farmhouse most of the times and visited home once a week.
Krushna’s father Fakir Charan had breathing problems and was admitted to the district headquarters hospital in Puri. Krushna along with Kalia Pradhan of Jagannathpatna had gone to Puri district headquarters hospital on a bike October 18, but did not return home.
“When we contacted the farmhouse owner, he said he had no contact with Krushna after that day,” his mother Subasini said. After failing to trace him, Krushna’s wife Shailabala had lodged a missing person complaint with police.
