Skill development training for Ramadevi students

Bhubaneswar, July 5: Over six hundred students of Ramadevi Women’s University successfully completed skill development certificate courses in food processing, bakery and chocolate making, and beauty. The varsity distributed the course certificates to the students at an event on the campus, Wednesday. Higher education minister Ananta Das graced the event as the chief guest. In his address to the students, he emphasized on the need for skill development among youngsters. “Students without skills will not succeed, despite having educational degrees. Skill enhancement courses boost the confidence levels in students and help them in becoming entrepreneurs,” the minister said. “The students were provided training in their respective courses for 30 hours by the teachers of Centurion University,”said Manas Behera, co-ordinator of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramadevi VC Padmaja Mishra said that the university will soon hold talks with varsities to start various other skill enhancement courses. The universities should lay em
phasis on skill development of students. These courses are absolutely necessary today,” Centurion University of technology and Management president Mukti Kanta Mishra said
