Bhubaneswar: The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has ushered in exciting times with a question mark hanging on job prospects, but students have to chart their own course by creating jobs, said Persistent Systems founder chairman and managing director Anand Deshpande while having an interaction with students of SOA Deemed to be University here Saturday.
“We are moving towards a situation where work will increase, but jobs will decrease. Instead of looking for jobs, you have to think about how to create jobs,” Deshpande said.
Replying to a question on AI and the future, he said AI would have an amazing ability to solve problems and push up productivity.
AI writes better code than humans today, but it can also distort facts like no one can, he said. SOA Vice-Chancellor Pradipta Kumar Nanda presided over the programme organised by the university and the Atal Incubation Centre-SOA Foundation.
SOA Advisory Board chairman Damodar Acharya and Corporate Relations and Industry Engagement director Ripti Ranjan Dash also addressed the occasion.
