BHUBANESWAR: Baramunda Parivesh Unnayan Parishad, Bhubaneswar, felicitated Ram Kishor Sharma with Parivesh Bandhu Award on the annual day function of Upasana Yog Kendra of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan here recently.
Arun Kumar Mohanty, secretary, A Khatai, president, Baramunda Parivesh Unnayan Parishad, feted Sharma with a citation and Angavastra. More than 200 people were present for the cultural events organised on the occasion.
Ram kishore Sharma, head, National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (NCSCDA), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, Bhubaneswar, has received National Award twice from President of India (1999) and Prime Minister of India (2015) for his outstanding work in rehabilitation of Persons with Disability (PwDs).
He has also been felicitated by the Governor of Odisha, ministers, bureaucrats and many organisations for his contribution. He has authored and edited eight books published by Government of India/Odisha, UNDP and other publishing houses.
One of his books was circulated to all the collectors of the country by Government of India. Besides being a prolific writer, he is also a motivational speaker and excellent trainer.
Pranbandhu Behera, Prant Mantri and Pradipta Kumar Mohanty, Zilla Pradhan of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan too feted him on the occasion. More than 100 yoga sadhak and sadhikas were present at the event.
Established in 1967 at New Delhi, Bharatiya Yog Sansthan is providing Yoga services free of cost through its 3500 Yoga Kendra across the country. It also has branches in 10 other countries like UK, USA, Dubai, Mauritius, Fiji and Australia. 160 such centres are functioning in Odisha.
Sharma said, “Awards and felicitations definitely motivate me. However, working only for awards and felicitations is not fair at all.”
