Sports Hostel, RSC script wins

Cuttack: Rising Student Club (RSC) and Sports Hostel registered comprehensive victories against their respective opponents in different matches of the FAO Ist Division football super league at the Barabati Stadium here, Sunday. RSC scraped past Jay Durga Club (JDC) 2-1 while Sports Hostel blanked Bidanasi Club 2-0.

With a barren first half both RSC and JDC went into attacking mode right from the start of the second. Aady Baiyo gave JDC the lead in the 53rd minute. However, just when it looked like JDC would take home full points, Sk Farid equalised with a beautifully crafted volley. JDC’s hopes were further dashed when Arvind Lakra scored the winner in the 80th minute.

In the other match of the day Sports Hostel scored in either halves to earn a hard fought victory against the spirited Bidanasi Club. Manas Nayak (43rd) and Bhabagrahi Padhiary (69th) scored for the winners.
