Puri, Feb 8: The Sri Jagannath temple administration has resolved to implement the High Court order relating to sale of mahaparasad inside the temple.
The Orissa High Court January 30 directed the temple administration to restrict sale of Mahaprasad within the Anand Bazaar complex while adjudicating a PIL filed by Chittaranjan Mohanty. The court also prohibited sale of Tunka Torani, a drink made of stale mahaprasad, considered a contaminated drink prepared in unhygienic conditions.
Temple chief administrator Bikash Chandra Mahapatra, district magistrate Arabind Agarwal and the superintendent of police Asish Kumar Singh had a detailed discussion with the Suar-Mahasuar Nijog, the servitor body dealing with cooking and selling of Mahaprasad.
The chief administrator said the servitor body agreed to implement the court order.
