Bhubaneswar: St Xavier’s High School, Kedargouri and Govt Boys’ High School, Unit-II advanced to the quarterfinals of the MCL Cup Inter-School football tournament at the Unit-VI Boys’ High School Ground here, Monday.
St Xavier’s HS played out a 1-1 draw with Vikash Residential School (VRS). Biswajit Mallick broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when he put VRS ahead. The joy however was short-lived as St Xavier’s HS restored parity through Aaron Jena in the 37th minute.
Unit-II HS on the other hand, thrashed Stewart School 3-0 in their Group-C fixture. Surya Munda (33rd minute), Jhupam Pradhan (40th) and Debadutta Soren (46th) were on target for the winners.
