Cuttack: Bidanasi police Saturday arrested a youth on the charge of molesting a Class VII girl while she was on her way to tuition here in Cuttack city. The accused was identified as Nilu Samal.
Sources said, Samal lived in the same neighbourhood as the girl and was in a one-sided love affair with the minor. He often stalked her and followed her to tuitions and back home regularly. The matter came to the fore after the girl’s father lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, police nabbed SamalSaturday morning.
According to the complainant, Samal followed the girl while she went to tuition as usual Friday evening. Half-way, he dragged her to a secluded place and molested her.
After a brief scuffle, the girl managed to give him a slip and escaped the spot. She ran home and informed her parents of the incident. The incident has spread tension in the area, as the two families broke out in an ugly fight over the issue.
Later, the girl’s father lodged a complaint with the police following which police arrested the accused.
