This is 53 per cent more than the allocation to the state in the previous Railway Budget.
The data is, however, subject to confirmation on the actual arrival of Budget papers in the state, said CRC and special secretary, commerce and transport department, Sanjay Mohapatra.
The state has received around `608 crore against its demand of Rs 1,470 crore for the construction of new railway lines, according to primary statistics related to the Railway fund allocation for the state.
The state had sought funds for the construction of 16 new railway lines but the Centre has allocated funds for seven new lines only, including Angul-Duburi-Sukinda Road, Khurda Road-Bolangir, Haridaspur-Paradip, Talcher-Bimalagarh, Digha-Jaleswar, Lanjighar-Junagarh and Daitari-Bansapani Road. The state has received a whopping Rs 1,527.80 crore against its demand of Rs 945 crore for doubling of major railway lines. For electrification of railway projects, the state has received Rs 294 crore against its claim of Rs 210 crore.
The state has also received Rs 19.77 crore against its demand of Rs 45 crore for setting up workshops and production units.
The Centre has allocated Rs 44.40 crore against the state’s demand of Rs 50 crore for road over/under bridges.
