Bhubaneswar, April 30: The state government Thursday announced Rs 5 crore assistance for the victims of the earthquake that rocked Nepal April 25.
“Chief Minister Naveen has announced Rs 5 crore for the relief and rehabilitation of the earthquake victims in the neighboring country,” said a release issued from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). The state government has deputed three senior officials of the Orissa State Disaster Mitigation Authority (OSDMA) to Nepal to assist in the ongoing relief and restoration operation, officials said.
The Chief Minister had earlier proposed sending a Orissa Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) team to help in the relief and restoration work in Nepal where the earthquake has caused huge loss of life and property.
Patnaik has expressed hope that normalcy would return in the country soon.
