Bhubaneswar, Jan 22: The site for the establishment of the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in the state would be selected before the end of the month, an official of the Employment and Technical Education & Training (ETET) department said Thursday.
“The director of Kolkata IIM, Saibal Chattopadhyay, a member of the central site selection committee, has sought detailed information on the two sites in a checklist and we have sent the details to him,” said the official.
The director will make some remarks in the report and send it to the other members. Finally, the draft report will be sent to the chairman of the committee, additional secretary (higher education), ministry of human resource development (MHRD), Amarjeet Sinha, for his approval.
The committee, which is headed Sinha and includes Chattopadhyay, officials from employment, ETE&T department and the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) and Khurda collector Niranjan Sethi, visited two proposed sites for establishment of permanent campus and temporary campus January 15 — one near the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Gothapatna and other near new Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campus at Arugul.
