Koraput: A 13-yearold schoolgirl died during treatment after falling ill at a residential school hostel in Koraput district Thursday, with her family alleging negligence by school authorities. The deceased was identified as Subarna, daughter of Bhagaban Amanathya of Podapadar village. She was a student of Nuagaon Ashram School under Borigumma block and was staying in the hostel.
According to reports, the girl fell ill Thursday morning. School authorities informed her family, who rushed to the hostel and took her to Borigumma hospital. Doctors there declared her dead. Family members alleged that the school failed to arrange timely medical care, leading to her death. Doctors said the body would be handed over to the family after the post-mortem. The incident has triggered unrest in the area, with locals demanding a fair probe and strict action against those responsible.
