Rourkela: A Plus-II student drowned while he was taking bath in Baikuntha ghat of Koel river here in Sundargarh district Friday. He was identified as Devidutt Sahu, son of Saroj Sahu of Jagada area and a student of Guru Nanak Public School.
Sources said, Sahu along with his friends had gone to take bath in Baikuntha ghat. Due to carelessness, his feet slipped and he drowned. His friends tried to save him, but in vain. After getting the information, a fire tender team launched a search operation and fished out the body after a few hours.
The body was later sent to IGH for post-mortem. Police registered a case and a probe was launched.
