Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: Subham Nayak of Orissa found a place in the India under-19 side selected for the ODI tri-series against Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The tournament will be played in Kolkata. Subham has been asked to report for the training session in Kolkata on or before November 17. It will be a wonderful opportunity for the youngster to learn as the India A side is being coached by Rahul Dravid.
DR College in semis
DR College, Bhubaneswar, entered the semifinals of the Utkal University-organised Inter-College cricket tournament defeating Jaydev College, Naharkanta by 113 runs in a match played here Friday.
Batting first DR College scored 215 for the loss of six wickets with Ashis Sahoo emerging the highest scorer with 86 (104b, 9×4, 2×6). He was well-supported by Avinav Ghosh (45, 64b, 6×4) and Sashikanth Sethi (40, 42b, 6×4). Jyoti Bardhan Mohanty (2/41) bowled well for Jaydev College.
Chasing a target of 216, Jaydev College were never in the hunt and kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 102 in 32 overs. Sumit Kumar Moharana (4/12) did the damage with some incisive bowling.
KISS triumph
KISS School defeated DAV School, Chandrasekharpur by 90 runs to win the MCL Cup Inter-School cricket tournament here Friday. Batting first KISS scored 244 for the loss of nine wickets. Sunil Kumar Majhi (79) batted well for KISS. Sreejesh Das (3/30) bowled well for DAV School.
Chasing a huge target DAV finished on 154 for nine in their quota of 45 overs. None of the DAV batsmen could make any sizeable contribution during their side’s chase.
