Bhubaneswar: The state government has sought public opinion for preparation of the annual budget 2018-19.
This is for the third time that the state government is seeking suggestions from public for preparation of the budget. The Finance department has invited suggestions from people in a structured format for the preparation of the annual budget. This facility will be available for a fortnight from December 23 to January 10 next, official sources said Friday.
“Members of the public, civil society, advocacy groups and other stakeholders are requested to make use of this unique opportunity to participate in the budget making process of the state government,” a statement issued by Finance department said.
The department has developed a web page budget.odisha.gov.in where suggestions can be sent. The page would host budget documents and suggestions.
People can also submit their suggestions through mail on odisha.budget@gov.in. Similarly, suggestions for the budget can also be presented through Whatsapp, Telegram and SMS to mobile number (+91) 9438161111.
The department would also hold pre-budget consultations with a cross section of society.
