Rayagada, May 28: Shikhya sahayika Itishree Pradhan murder suspects, led by a state politician, reportedly held a secret meeting Wednesday night at a guesthouse in Srikakulum in Andhra Pradesh (AP) as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is all set to tighten its noose.
The meet was organised in a hurried manner as the information about the earlier meeting places was leaked consistently in media. Some traders, contractors and private and government employees who were quizzed by the CBI attended the meeting.
They carefully listened to the words of the concerned state level leader. Reliable sources said, the leader explained the suspects about their future course of action in details. They were also given the details of the locations of AP where they can take refuge on the event of imminent CBI raids.
According to sources, the leader who managed to end the political career of a people’s representative in the district with the help of this group realises that CBI has got wind of his involvement in Itishree murder case. While his connection in the case didn’t come to the fore during the investigation of Crime Branch, CBI managed to know about the background of the case. This is giving sleepless nights to the leader, sources said.
Well placed sources reveal, the leader was trying to fix a place to hold meeting of the suspects for last 10 days but failed in his efforts as those were leaked in media. Left with no option, he summoned them to the guesthouse in Srikakulum on a short notice.
If sources are to be believed, the leader would soon be asked to appear for polygraph test by the CBI. On the other hand, CBI inspector DB Mitrawa Thursday confined himself to the camp office at Rayagada to analyse various documents related to the case and interrogated three persons in this connection.
