Dharmasala: Police Sunday arrested a teacher of a high school under this block in Jajpur district Sunday for allegedly having sexual relationship with a colleague on the pretext of marriage.
The accused was identified as Binod Bihari Sethy, the headmaster in-charge of the school. A case was registered and the accused was produced in a court.
According to the complaint lodged by the female teacher, the accused had developed an affair with her and kept physical relationship with her on the promise of marrying her.
Later, he went back on his promise and critically assaulted the survivor when she insisted for marriage. Her colleagues rescued her and admitted her to the Dharmasala community health centre. The survivor after her discharge from the hospital lodged a complaint in Dharmasala police station Saturday evening.
Acting on the complaint, Dharmasala police registered a case and conducted a medical examination of the survivor at the local hospital and the accused at a Jajpur hospital.
The accused was produced in a court after interrogation, Dharmasala IIC Umakanta Nayak said.
