Bhubaneswar, Jan 25: The Rastriya Madhyamik Sikshya Abhiyan (RMSA) will organise the fourth edition of the in-service teachers’ training Samarthya-IV in various venues across the state beginning January 28.
The programme is meant to provide training to high school teachers in five subjects of Class X, including mathematics, English, physical science, life science and Oriya.
RMSA has already conducted three such training programmes in 2012, 2013 and January 8, 2015. The fourth edition is scheduled to be held in four phases beginning January 28. The training programme will conclude February 20.
The third edition of the training programme, Samarthy-III, which was held in the capital city was mired in controversy. There were allegations that the teachers gathered here for the training were not given allowances though they should be given `140 as dearness allowance (DA) and `350 for boarding allowance.
About 300 teachers from all the 30 districts of Orissa had then gathered in the city for training, with each district sending two teachers for each subject, taking the total number of teachers from a district to ten.
RMSA has this time sent letters to all district education officers (DEO) across the state, according to sources.
The DEOs will be responsible for the successful completion of Samarthya-IV and will have to fix the venue and make other arrangements after consultation with the heads of high schools in their area.
