Bhubaneswar: A delegation of KFW, a German Government-owned development bank, with headquarters at Frankfrut, visited Shanti Nagar slum in Kharvel Nagar to know about various projects undertaken by the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL). Presently, KFW is working with the state Government, Bhubaneswar Smart City and other state agencies.
The KFW team comprised directors (SA) Carolin Gassner and Claudia Arce who visited several projects within the Bhubaneswar Town Centre District (BTCD) area and met peer leader Pragati Sathi inside Shanti Nagar and interacted with them.
The team members were briefed about the Socially Smart Bhubaneswar project, which is meant to make the slum-dwellers, especially teenage girls, women and youth “smart” and employable and also ensuring their security.
The team included BSCL officials who visited Smart Parks in Sahid Nagar area. They went to Social Equity Centre at Kharvel Nagar. Sources informed that the KFW team is in city to discuss mass transport related issues.
