Bargaon: The Bargaon block office in Sundargarh district organised a programme on ‘Swachh Bharat’ on its premises Saturday.
The BDO in-charge and tehsildar Sonali Chand, assistant engineer Sahadev Mundari, junior engineer Rupashree Patel, gram panchayat officer Mukteswar Rasa, bio-gas technician Kartik Chandra Guntha, clerk Jitendra Behera, ACP Lekhaka Behera, poen Guneswar Dungdung, Jibaradhan Sunyani and Kuntala Ping together cleaned the block office building and its premises.
Tehsildar Sonali Chand herself cleaned a toilet of the block office building, which was in a shoddy and unclean state for the past few years. While she was engaged in the cleaning work, her own brother came to the office to meet her.
Sonali didn’t even hesitate to engage him in the ‘Swachh Bharat’ programme and asked him to bring buckets of water. It may be mentioned here that two toilets of the block office building were lying dirty and unclean and, hence, were not being used for the past few years. Following the cleaning drive, the block office building and its premises now have a sparkling and tidy look.
This act of the tehsildar has gathered wide appreciation from people across the society and inspired the public.
