Bhubaneswar: Television actress Mahika Sharma has alleged that she was harassed and roughed up by some youths during Rath Yatra in Puri July 14.
The actress, narrating her ordeal on Instagram, said she was on the way to the Jagannath Temple for darshan of the Lords at around 6 am when some youths passed lewd comments and even tried to slap her.
Speaking to a private regional news channel, Sharma said those who misbehaved with her were made to do sit-ups by policemen present there. Locals also told the wrongdoers to kneel for their behaviour, she said, adding that no police complaint was lodged by her in this regard.
The actress further said that security arrangement in Puri was good and appealed tourists to visit the pilgrim town.
Following the incident, she returned to the hotel without visiting the Lords.
