Here is the list of such actors who had a slow start to their careers but became successful later.

Amitabh Bachchan
First in this list is the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. Big B Friday celebrated his 77th birthday. His first film was Saat Hindustani which was released in 1969. After that he did several films including Parwana, Pyar Ki Kahani, Bombay to Goa, Ek Nazar etc. All these films failed to do well at the box office. Big B got recognition with Zanjeer in 1973. A total of 12 Amitabh Bachchan films were flopped while only two were hits before he did Zanjeer.

Salman Khan
Salman Khan has been in the film industry for 31 years now. In all these years Salman has managed to cement his place in the film industry. Salman’s first film was Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988) in which he played a supporting role. This film did decent business, but Salman couldn’t create any magic. Then he played leading role in Sooraj R Barjatya’s romantic family drama Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), which became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. The sequence of Salman’s hit films has continued even now.

Akshay Kumar
Khiladi of the Hindi film industry Akshay Kumar made his debut in cinema with the film Saugandh (1991). It failed to earn recognition, but after this film Akshay started getting offers. The film featured Rakhi and Shantipriya alongside Akshay. While Akshay is constantly scaling the heights of success, Shantipriya is now away from the limelight.

Ranbir Kapoor
Kapoor made his debut in the year 2007 with the film Saawariya, the film also featured Sonam Kapoor. Sanjay Leela Bhansali had high expectations from this film but the film failed miserably at the box office. After this, Ranbir appeared in the films Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), Wake Up Sid (2009) Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009), Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009) but his performance in the film Raajneeti (2010) was appreciated. Later, films like RockStar (2011), Barfi (2012) and Sanju (2018) placed Ranbir in the list of hit actors.
