In a bizarre incident, a video of a thief seeking the blessings of Lord Hanuman before looting the donation box from the temple has been going viral on social media. The video has now become the talk of the town.
The incident has been reported from Thane in Maharashtra. Meanwhile, police have managed to arrest the burglar after going through the CCTV footage.
According to sources, the incident was reported from a Hanuman Temple near the Khopat bus depot, thane. The burglar sneaked into the temple while the priest had stepped out for some work. When he returned, he found that the donation box in front of the idol was missing. The priest informed that the amount in the donation box was ₹1,000.
The temple priest, Mahant Mahavirdas Maharaj returned to find the donation box missing and informed the police. The complainant, in his statement, said that the theft occurred sometime between 8pm and 9.30pm Tuesday.
Acting on the complaint of Maharaj, police went through the CCTV footages and made the arrest.
