Bantala: Royal Bengal Tigress Sundari again sparked panic among people after it reportedly killed a calf at Hatibari village under Tikarpada forest range in Angul district Sunday.
The calf belonged to Raghu Sai. The incident comes a month after the tigress allegedly killed a woman Kailash Sai in the village September 12. Forest officials led by ranger Jayant Patnaik and accompanied by police, a monitoring team and personnel of the Wildlife Institute of India rushed to the spot.
They tried tried to recover the carcass of the calf but in vain. The tigress was brought from Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh to help in growth of big cat population in Satkosia Tiger Reserve Project.
