Bhubaneswar: A young woman was arrested Monday for allegedly assaulting several policemen in a fit of fury at the railway station here, police said.
The woman, in an inebriated state, was loitering at Sriya Talkies area near the railway station when she was arrested. She is reported to have attacked several police personnel who tried to help her Sunday night.
She young woman was taken to Kharvel Nahar police station initially where the police found an Aadhaar card, issued in the name of Duniya Khan of Lajpat Nagar, South Delhi, in her possession. The state police have been verifying her antecedents by contacting their counterpart in Lajpat Nagar in Delhi.
Police have also recovered some cash, a bottle of liquor and an expensive mobile phone from her possession. The woman, stated to be of Japanese origin, has been residing in Bhubaneswar for the past two months.
