Bhubaneswar, Sept 15: In a bid to curb Maoist activities in the state, a blueprint was prepared at the unified command meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati here Tuesday.
Development commissioner, secretaries of home and finance departments, director general of police (DGP), inspectors general (IGs) of BSF and CRPF attended the meeting which was held at the branch office of the State Intelligence Bureau here.
The meeting discussed about the areas affected by Maosist activities and construction of a bridge over Gurupriya River which is expected to help at least 20,000 inhabitants of 151 villages.
After the meeting, DGP Sanjeev Marik told the media that the state’s rehabilitation scheme for Naxals is the best in the country.
The top cop also said there were still some areas in the state which have the presence of Naxals.
“We are keeping a close watch on such areas,” he added.
