Daringbadi: Much awaited toy train facility will soon welcome children coming to Hill View Park in Daringbadi- a major tourist spot in Kandhamal district. The facility, constructed at a cost of Rs 6 lakh, is set to be inaugurated Sunday.
While hundreds of tourists visit this park everyday with their number growing significantly between March and September each year, there was little of interest to keep the children engaged.
Keeping this in view, the facility of a toy train was envisaged. While the work on the facility had been going on for a long time, the contractor firm was allegedly taking its time to get the project finished.
That said, following publication of several reports in Odia daily Dharitri in this context, the administration took steps for its early completion.
“Earlier, children here used to feel bored as the spot used to be devoid of any things of their interest. I hope the toy train facility is able to not only attract more children but also keep them engaged for some time,” said Kailash Chandra Dandapat, secretary of Jagruti – the organisation engaged in maintaining the park.
