Bhubaneswar: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has been intensifying its rural outreach through the ‘Gaan Chala’ initiative.
Organised across its licensed area, these village-level service camps have become important touch points for delivering electricity-related services directly to the community.
Thousands of rural customers have already been reached through these camps, where new service connections are being processed, bill revisions are carried out, and consumer queries are addressed with on-the-spot solutions.
This doorstep approach has ensured hassle-free service delivery while reducing the need for consumers to travel to Customer Care Centres for assistance.
Beyond service facilitation, the initiative also places strong emphasis on digital inclusion. Many rural customers have successfully enrolled in TPCODL’s digital platforms, which allow them to pay bills online, register complaints and receive real-time service updates.
This shift is enabling rural households to enjoy faster, more transparent and convenient access to services.
The camps also feature dedicated counselling sessions to create awareness about the ongoing ‘Bill Pay & Win’ scheme.
These sessions encourage timely bill payments and highlight the benefits and rewards of adopting digital payment modes, making consumers active partners in the digital transformation journey.
Through ‘Gaan Chala’, TPCODL is not only bridging service gaps but also fostering stronger bonds with rural communities by ensuring that electricity services are accessible, transparent and customer-friendly at the grassroots level.
