Balasore: In a shocking incident, a tribal man had to carry the body of his son on a trolley after he failed to avail ambulance service from a hospital in Nilagiri area of Balasore district Sunday.
While this incident reminds of the infamous Dana Majhi incident of Kalahandi wherein the tribal man had to carry the body of his wife on his shoulders from a hospital, the state government’s Mahaprayan Yojana for transportation of bodies has come into question.
According to reports, a snake bit Krishna Singh (6), son of Kunaram Singh of Adibasi Sahi near station area. His family members admitted him to the Nilagir hospital in a critical condition. However, the boy succumbed to the injury during treatment.
Kunaram had reportedly sought the service of Mahaprayan vehicle to shift the body to his home, but it was allegedly not made available to him.
With no way out, Kunaram had to lay the body on a trolley and carry it home in full view of public. PNN
