Bhubaneswar, June 22: Eight classical dancers from the state and Karnataka stole the show as with breathtaking performances on the inaugural day of classical dance festival ‘Dhara Shree Radha’ at Bhanjakala Mandap in city, Thursday. Orissa Art and Culture Association organised the event. The fest proceeded with Bharatanatyam presentations by popular danseuse of Mangalore, Karnataka Radhika Shetty. The third one urges audience to enjoy every moment of life,” said Shetty. She shuffled through various roles on the stage with grace and ease. Manisha Manaswani, a student of Rojalin Mohaptra , kept the audience glued on their seats. Her first presentation was ‘Saraswati Bandana’, choreographed by her guru. The music was composed by Bijay Kumar. Saraswati Bandana was followed by her Abhinaya ‘Chandrabale Kunje’. Several young artistes took everyone with surprise as they danced like experts. audience with her performance titled ‘Kesaba Radha Bihita Bilasa’. “Radha mourns as Krishna is far away from her. She remembers her beloved all through the act,” said Abhipsa. The event also witnessed four more recitals. Artistes Kakali Paramguru, Deepanjana Dutta, Preetipriya Behera and Harekrushna Dhala and Nupur presented their respective recitals. The three day-long festival will continue till June 24.
