Salepur: A person was killed and more than 40 injured when a picnic bus and a hyva truck collided head-on near Parabil on Cuttack-Paradip road Friday morning.
On being informed, Kishannagar police reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. The deceased are the driver of the hyva and the handyman of the bus. The police rushed all the injured picnickers to SCB Medical College and Hospital in an ambulance. The condition of three injured is said to be critical.
Sources said, the bus with picnickers was going from Niladree Vihar in Bhubanewar was on its way to Paradip. The bus had a head-on collision with a hyva truck coming from the opposite direction and skidded off the road
The accident disrupted traffic for three hours on the road.
