Bargarh: The town police claimed to have cracked the murder mystery of a minor girl whose body was found in Bidhyabasini Hills under Bheden police limits in this district December 8.
Police arrested two youths in this connection Monday. The accused, identified as Kailash Chandra Barik and Ramesh alias Chhotu Sahani. The two have confessed to the murder of the girl during police interrogation, sources said.
As per reports, Kailash was in a relationship with the minor girl. Over some reason, the two broke out in a fight. In a fit of revenge, Kailash hatched a plot to eliminate her and included his friend Chhotu in his plan.
As per plan, the two youths called the girl and took her to the hills on some pretext where they killed her and later dumped her body.
Preliminary probe revealed the victim as pregnant and wanted to marry Kailash. However, Kailash wasn’t too keen to marry her. He planned to eliminate her when she insisted for marriage.
Upon interrogation, Kailash and Chhotu revealed that they kidnapped and killed her before throwing her body at the hills, stated Bargarh SDPO Suresh Kumar Nayak at a press meet held in his office.
“A case of kidnapping and murder was registered at the Bheden police station following which our cops launched an investigation into the incident and arrested the two accused,” the SDPO said.
A motorcycle the duo used in the murder has been seized while further action will be taken after the Inspector In-charge submits a detailed report, the SDPO added.
