Balasore: Two youths lost their lives and another sustained injury after an unidentified vehicle hit the motorcycle they were travelling at Naharpatna near Sadar Monday.
While one of the deceased was Pradipta Mohapatra (20), the injured has been identified as Suresh Das. The trio hails from Kalma area here.
According to reports, when their bike reached Naharpatna, a vehicle hit their motorcycle from rear at 6.30 am following which one of them died on the spot and two others critically injured.
Though they have been rushed to the Balasore district hospital, Pradipta succumbed to his injuries. Suresh is undergoing treatment.
Tension gripped the area as local residents staged a road blockade, demanding compensation for the families of the deceased.
