New Delhi: Chief Resident Commissioner Tuhin Kanta Pandey Thursday felicitated two freedom fighters from Odisha – Sahadeb Behera, 96, and Nilamani Samal ,90, at Odisha Bhawan here.
The freedom fighters have been invited to the “AT HOME” Reception being hosted by President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan August 9.
Behera hails from Nayagarh district, while Samal belongs to Jajpur district. The freedom fighters had participated actively in the Indian freedom struggle especially during Quit India Movement of 1942.
During the felicitation, the veterans shared their glorious moments of freedom struggle. Their inspiring words and experience filled the audience with pride and sense of patriotism.
It’s worth noting here that “At Home” reception is being organised to commemorate the anniversary of the Quit India Movement of the Indian freedom struggle. Freedom fighters from all parts of the country are invited to Rashtrapati Bhawan to attend the reception.
