Angul: In a shocking incident, two sisters died after getting bitten by a snake in the Bentpur area of Angul late Sunday night.
The deceased have been identified as 13 years old Rojalin and 11 years old Sujata.
Family sources said that like any other day Rojalin and Sujata had their dinners and went to sleep. A poisonous snake is said to have slithered into the room where they were sleeping and bit them.
Coming to know about this, family members rushed them to Angul district headquarters hospital. Upon their condition deteriorating further, they were being shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack when they died on the way.
The bodies were handed over to the family after post-mortem at Angul DHH.
A pall of gloom descended on the village as the news broke.
