Baliguda: Acting on a tip-off, a special team of Forest officials caught two poachers in the act and nabbed them from a jungle near Pusangia under Bataguda panchayat of this block in Kandhamal district, late Sunday night.
The accused were identified as Balaram Pujari, 27, and Sudam Mallik, 40, residents of nearby villages. Informed, the team of forest officials immediately set off for the jungle and caught them red-handed while they were preparing for poaching. Later, they arrested the two poachers, forester Prabhat Dora said. A gun, 10 live bullets, 120 gram explosives, two matchboxes, two torches and two mobile phones were seized from their possession. A case was registered in this connection and the accused produced in the court after they admitted to their involvement in poaching, the forester added.
