Bhubaneswar, Sept 20: Urmila Football Academy (UFA) pipped East Coast Railways (ECoR) 1-0 in the final to emerge champions of the Jayanta Mohapatra Memorial Women’s one-day football tournament at the Unit-VI HS Ground here Sunday.
It was a keenly-contested match in which both the teams played aggressively. However, both sides missed chances in the first half and failed to open the scoring. However in the second half, Pyari Xaxa got the winning goal for UFA to ensure victory for her side.
Energy department director Suresh Kumar Mohapatra was present as chief guest and distributed the prizes.

Both the matches of the 12th Gati Krushna Memorial football league ended in tame stalemates at the Unit-I Boys’ HS Ground here Sunday.
The first match between Bir Bisra Youth Club and Gopabandhu Youth Club ended in a goalless draw.
In the other game Tech Mahindra and JSJS, AG Colony played out a 2-2 draw. Roshan Mohanty opened the account for JSJS in the 13th minute while Akash restored parity for Tech Mahindra a minute before the breather.
After the change of ends, Birendra Nath Singh of JSJS found the back of the net in the 65th minute to hand his team a 2-1 lead. But their joy was shortlived as Vicky of Tech Mahindra restored parity in the 69th minute.
