Pallahada: In a unique protest against the bad road condition, affected villagers planted paddy seedlings on the muddy road at Kamparkila village under Sagada panchayat of this sub division in Angul district Thursday.
Alleging that their village, which is hardly five km from the sub division, has been neglected the road for years. The villagers said the sub divisional officials had been apprised of their perennial problem many times, but of no avail.
The existing road has now been damaged owing to rains and the villagers have a tough time travelling on this road.
“As requests have fallen on deaf ears, we have no other way but to show our discontent by planting saplings,” the villagers observed.
They also warned that they would next resort to agitation if steps are not taken to solve their problem.
