Angul: Only a corruption free India can get its rightful place in the world, believes Sudarshan Prasad Biswakarma of Uttar Pradesh.
A native of Chhoti Kashi in Kabir Nagar district, Sudarshan has been travelling on a bicycle for one year and eight months to generate awareness on the evils of corruption at all levels.
He would cover the length and breadth of India in two years and 65 days, the anti-corruption crusader, who arrived Tuesday at Angul, said.
So far, he has travelled 441 districts and more than 60,000 kms as part of his sensitisation drive.
After arriving at the town, he met district officials and apprised them of his dream of a corruption-free India.
He aims to cover all the districts of the country to create awareness about dishonesty which is a major hurdle in the growth of the country, Sundarshan said, adding, he has received positive response from the people.
“We have the tendency to forget our past. Many great souls have laid down their lives during the freedom struggle while countless jawans protect our borders. However, the corruption menace is making this country empty from inside,” the man said.
“There is an urgency to remove corruption from all spheres of life if we aspire to become a global leader,” he said.
Sudarshan said he didn’t look up to none to launch his crusade against corruption, when asked about his source of inspiration behind such an adventure.
“I don’t know what struck me to go for it. I would not limit myself to just a cycle journey, I would continue my fight against corruption till my last breath,” the determined cyclist said. PNN
