Baipariguda: A large number of important government posts are vacant in Baipariguda block, hitting the functioning of these offices.
Although the government is giving great importance to its development programmes, there is no one to oversee their implementation.
The district administration is not serious about this, and the public is unable to obtain even an attested copy or a character certificate from the authorities.
Before the 2019 general elections the Block Development Officer and Tehsildar were transferred out, and after that no one else was posted in their place. The Additional Block Development Officer and Additional Tehsildar are managing affairs now.
The post of Block Social Security Officer is vacant since a year, and the Block Social Security Officer of Jeypore is holding additional charge of Baipariguda block.
The block’s Assistant Engineer retired a year back and since then his post is vacant. In his absence, the Assistant Engineer of Jeypore Municipality is holding charge here.
As there is no Inspector-in-Charge at the local police station, an SI is managing law and order. Similarly, an Additional Divisional Forest Officer is discharging the responsibilities of the Divisional Forest Officer here.
As there is no Community Health Centre in-charge since two years, a junior doctor is handling everything.
The Headmaster of the nodal High School in Sadar block retired a year back. The post is still vacant, and is being managed by an assistant manager.
The welfare officer of Baipariguda is holding additional charge of Lamataput block too.
